About the event
From July 14–16, 2026, the historic city of Sulmona, Italy will host the APME International Conference, co-organized by MEMECO (Mediterranean Music Education Committee) and the Association for Popular Music Education (APME).
The conference will gather educators, researchers, and musicians from across the world to explore how music shapes identity, fosters connection, and transforms education. Over three inspiring days, attendees will experience keynote presentations, interactive sessions, and public concerts set in Sulmona’s most beautiful cultural venues — from Palazzo San Francesco to the Auditorium of the SS. Annunziata.
Open to the public, the event will also feature a local cultural fair at the Rotonda di San Francesco, celebrating artistic exchange and promoting Abruzzo’s rich musical and social heritage.
